As I sit in a cozy coffee house waiting for one of my kids to finish a Saturday activity, the two daunting words “About Me” stare up from my legal pad. My overstuffed minivan is parked outside ready to shuttle me off to the next stop. But not just yet. For a moment, I am in sacred solitude. Fresh coffee warms my hands and body. Soothing music delivered through headphones dulls the surrounding chatter. Pencil on paper. And a grateful heart, eager to answer God’s call.
I am originally a proud Northeast Ohio girl from a small town called Ashtabula. After many years, West Chester, Pennsylvania has become home for my family.
Game-changing life experiences: a transformational year in Italy during college, a cancer diagnosis at age twenty five, inviting Jesus into my heart, and motherhood.
My gem of a husband, Josh, and I have three busy kids (Ellie, Jack and Charlie) and a tireless Boston Terrier named Yoda. While we are far from perfect, we make a great team and I am delighted to share this beautiful, bumpy ride with them. And now with all of you!
On a professional note, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Psychology degree from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Maryland. My early career days were joyfully spent in student affairs on college campuses, and then as a therapist in a Christian counseling practice. I have primarily been a stay-at-home mom for the past decade, and I assure you that my counseling skills have been put to good use in that role☺︎.
The most sincere desires of my heart are captured by a little green sign resting on a shelf in my kitchen… Love God. Serve others. Live simply.
